With the much awaited 4th book in the P.I. Penguin series set for release in April, we’re building our list of “Wise Owls” and growing our fabulous “Street Owls” teams. Part of that is our current drive for reviews and the wonderful flood of glowing feedback that have been coming in for P.I. Penguin and the Case of the Missing Bottle.
My favourite comment so far:
“This is a terrific illustrated book that reminds me of Dr. Seuss.
… I love it as much as kids will.”
Bill Anderson [TOP 500 REVIEWER]
This comment gave me so many warm fuzzy feelings. Dr. Seuss is most definitely my biggest idols when it comes to talented children’s authors. The style of his poetic meter and rhyme driven stories have inspired and delighted our family for generations. It is such a wonderful honour to be compared to the great and talented Seuss. Not only that, but it seemed kismet that such a comparison be made at this time of year because today we celebrate Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday!
Happy birthday Dr Seuss!
Here are some of the other wonderful comments we’ve received:
“This book creates a superbly fascinating world with adorable characters above and under the sea!” Rob Natiuk [TOP 1000 REVIEWER]. Rob also said, “…whether read silently or aloud, the poetry comes out. I guarantee you that young kids will love to have this book read aloud to them. They will also learn these lines quickly and repeat them.”
“This book is targeted for ages four through twelve, though I believe it most appropriate for ages six through nine.” Barbara Mojica
“[PI1] is an example of solid teamwork between the author and the illustrator. The author, Bec J. Smith, has a unique style defined by prose dusted with rhymes, while the illustrator, Adit Galih, creates flawless drawings.” Steve Mann. He added, “The prose is exemplary of excellent (perfect) English; you can tell that a lot of work went into editing this piece.”
“My children are six and eight years of age and were entranced through the entire story. Each one have their own favorite scene, of course my son loving the sharks and my daughter the baby octopus.” Romance Authors That Rock
Thank you so much to all those who’ve left reviews. Your words mean so much to me, and to Kaylie and Joshua who are both over the moon with the wonderful reception the book has received. We’re excited to be working our way toward the launch of book four in April. Meanwhile, we’re still keen to add more members to our Wise Owls and Street Owls teams. Have you had a chance to read P.I. Penguin and the Case of the Missing Bottle? (If you don’t have a copy, you can get it for free when you join our Little Owls!) We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. A review on Amazon would be fabulous but we also love reviews on Kobo, Goodreads, and our own Aulexic webstore.
If you’ve reviewed any of our Aulexic titles, please share your review with us to let us know!
